Project Overview

Set in Sydney’s coastal suburb of Burraneer, this residential project showcases a beautifully tailored flooring solution that elevates the home’s entry and private zones. Madera Floors was engaged to supply and install solid European Oak parquetry in a classic herringbone pattern, paired with custom stair treatment and precision finishing at thresholds. The project combines traditional parquetry elegance with the durability and clarity of a commercial-grade water-based finish.

Scope of Work:

Rough sanding of the existing timber subfloor to prepare for overlay
Supply and install solid block European Oak parquetry (710 x 123 x 18mm) in a traditional herringbone pattern, trowel-glued to subfloor
Installation of a 123mm single board border to perimeter for visual framing and layout refinement
Neat cut and 10mm cork expansion strips installed at tiled thresholds for movement and acoustic absorption
3mm silver flatbars installed at all carpet transitions
Sanding and polishing of entire floor, including stair treads and risers, completed with an anti-slip finish coating for safety and compliance

Design Notes
